On to an amazing little treat that arrived in the mail for me!
Yes that is a cookie jar!!!! But it was filled with the healthy goodies!
These are the newest bars by Zone Perfect! They are cookie inspired chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin and they’re DEEEEEEE-LITE-FUL! Perfect on the go snack, very tasty and filling to boot! AND they’ve even given me a coupon code to pass along to you! http://leadjumper.go2jump.org/aff_c?offer_id=4&aff_id=7
On top of yummy new bars I also created this little gem for a lunch and it has been a repeat!
Mixed greens, roma tomato, feta cheese, shredded turkey breast, and Balsamic vinaigrette! It’s so funny how the simplest of salads can be so yummy! Great for dinner too with a little cup-o-soup! MMMM
Allright to close I want to talk about the Marie Claire article The Hunger Diaries. This article has taken the Health Blog world by storm causing quite an up-roar. I said I wasn’t going to read it or blog about it but my Twitter time line has been filled with it, and opinions on it, for a few days now so I caved. I knew a few of the bloggers that the article mentioned but there was one in particular who’s blog I actually used to read. As for the other 5 mentioned, I have browsed their blogs but can’t say I have visited them enough to form an opinion, with that being said I’ll be chatting about one. The blog that I was familiar with was actually suggested to me by a family member who is friends with the authors family. After my first time visiting, and let me just say I was already on my weight loss journey-maybe like 2 or 3 months in, I felt inferior. This girl did absolutely nothing but make smoothies in her uber expensive Vita Mix,work out, eat out, answer emails, and shop. She took pictures of all of her meals, grocery runs, clothing sprees and even made a few videos of herself working out. While it may not sound like that big of a deal, as a girl who had a lot of weight to lose and not a lot of money to spend doing it I felt like I needed to find a way to change that. I found myself obsessively tuning in to see what she was going to make, or where she was going to eat, what the weather was like where she was….it was crazy. Somewhere along the way I decided to turn my little on line blog on blogspot into a full fledged website, and thus Girl Gone Healthy was born. I guess you could say in a way she inspired me, but I always told myself that I would make myself REAL, I would show the struggles that come with losing weight, because this particular blogger has never had a weight problem or a true need to eat the way she does. At the end of the day I wanted to be healthy, but I didn’t want to starve to get there. I love food and I want to eat, not drink cups of tea at night to curb my hunger because I decided to eat light all day. Remember this is only my opnion and I invite you to read the article for yourself at http://www.marieclaire.com/health-fitness/news/articles/health-blogger-controversy
If I should lose readers or Followers due to my “two cents” then so be it.
Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!!!!!
Healthy Wishes, T
