As I read her post I literally had a light bulb moment, Anda was writing everything I was feeling. It’s very overwhelming to be a member of this community, and I’ll venture to say the longer your blog is around the more intimidating it becomes. My 2 year blogaversary came and went with out any notice, a far different cry from my 6 month or even 1 year mark. It’s difficult to keep up with those who have amazing cameras to take flawless food pics as well as the people who are able to post daily, even multiple times a day.
Granted I could be posting everyday like I used to but I would be missing out on my life. I really feel guilty whipping out the computer while Zac is awake or not in school and he needs my attention because of the delays that he still has. And as far as night time goes, I teach every night come home spend a little while with the hubby and Zac and then it’s off to shower and bed for Zac shortly followed by the same for the hubby- he has to be up at 5:30am so that little bit of alone time we have I don’t want to be blogging. In our community if you’re not posting daily and running marathons you could easily fall to the wayside, and that’s sad. It’s also sad that when you go through an off period or you have a slip up that there are people in our community who never have anything to say until that time. I could finish 1st in a marathon and never receive a blog comment, tweet or email but God forbid I have 2 margaritas and some chips and salsa and suddenly my email lights up.
I want to thank Anda for writing and publishing her post this morning and allowing those of with busy lives to breathe and realize that we too are doing AWESOME things, they’re just at a different pace. You can read Anda’s post here: http://www.leavingfatville.com/2011/06/walking-fine-line.html
To close I want to share my new fave afternoon frozen treat!
Strawberry Pineapple Icee
This is so easy and YUMMY!
-8 oz of ice cold water
-2 handfuls of ice cubes
-fresh pineapple chunks (I used about 5 chunks)
-1 packet of strawberry flavored crystal light
Blend until smooth and pour into glass, place in freezer for desired slushiness! I just like that top layer frozen so I can stir it into the rest of the drink!
Healthy Wishes, Tera
