LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston

If you know my son Zachary “In Real Life” then you know he LOVES LEGO anything….. ANYTHING. I mean the kid has over 200 minifigs, you know the little LEGO people that come in the LEGO sets, and speaking of LEGO sets let’s just say if the LEGO store ever needs back up inventory Zac has you covered.

So what better activity to do on Summer vacation, especially when your parents (Zac and Harper’s Grandparents) are visiting from Texas, then take a little road trip from Cranston, RI to Somerville, MA to visit LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston!

Ready to go inside?!!! OK, let’s GO!

From the moment you step inside you are literally transported to the World of LEGO, take a look.

And that’s just the ticket area….let’s head to the Attractions!

There are 12 great family attractions in LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston and they range from hands on to RIDE on. I mean you’ve got 44,000 square-feet of indoor attractions featuring more than 3 million LEGO® bricks to check out AND the entire place is geared toward children aged 3 to 10 and their families. (*Side Note* Harper is only 16 months and she LOVED it, so don’t hesitate to bring your younger family members.)

The LEGO® Factory Tour will be your first stop upon exiting the elevator and for those who purchase the Activity Pack you can get your First Badge Stamp Here too! our first Stamp!!

(Activity Packs can be purchased in addition to General Admission tickets. The packs prompt you to collect all the stamps located around LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston and solve puzzles along the way!)

Next up is Kingdom Quest Laser Ride. In this indoor LEGO® ride, visitors jump into their chariot and use their laser to zap the trolls and skeletons and rescue the Princess who has been captured. The better the visitor’s aim, the higher their score. *Little ones CAN ride but MUST be able to sit up right next to parent during ride.*

After you save the Princess and get the all time High Score it’s time to experience MINILAND®. Here you will discover iconic regional landmarks and attractions all made entirely out of LEGO® bricks. Using more than 3 million LEGO bricks, you can see Boston come to life with interactive displays, touch screens and sound effects. I have to say I think MINILAND is one of my favorite parts of LDCB.

So much to see in MINILAND®, its amazing how the displays MOVE, DANCE, FLOAT I mean you have to see it for yourself. **Be sure to hop over to my FB Page and check out the videos I snagged in MINILAND®**

Now the next part of your journey is totally up to you, and you’re not even halfway done yet! In fact now might be a good time to refuel and relax at the LEGO Cafe while you decide where to explore next. From sandwiches and salads to quick grab-n-go snacks there’s something for all appetites.

Now that you’re hydrated and fueled where to? Well how about a 4D Movie?! LEGO® 4D Cinema allows you to ride alongside your favorite LEGO® Characters in our 4D Cinema. 3D films get an added special dimension to bring the experience to life, including wind, rain, snow and lightning thus making them 4D.

Ready to get HANDS ON and see if you could be a Master Builder one day?! Great! You can choose from the following areas: LEGO® Racers: Build & Test, LEGO® City: Play Zone, LEGO® DUPLO® Farm, Earthquake Tables, LEGO® Ninjago Training Camp, LEGO® City Builder,  and LEGO® Friends – Olivia’s House. Check out some of our favorite moments and stop by my FB Page to see all of these photos for a better look at all the fun.

We still have one last ride to go on, you might need another snack before you board…. it takes some leg work ;-).

Merlin’s Apprentice Ride: This indoor LEGO® ride is set in Merlin’s potion room, a world of wizarding magic spells and sorcery. Visitors pedal as fast as they can to see how high they can get, and are able to look out over the rest of the attraction. *Your littles wont be able to ride unless they reach the height requirement, but they will be able to spectate and see the fun.*

Now you can’t leave LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston without SHOPPING for LEGOS ;-).

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston is located in Assembly Row, which is AMAZING by the way –  from shopping to gorgeous views of the water- you can make a WHOLE day trip out of this people and with FREE all day parking there’s no reason not to!
