Day 13 of Pledge 20, how’s it goin’? Did anyone weigh in for the week/ Come up with any new recipes or find an awesome new work out? If so please SHARE! You can either Tweet, Facebook, comment below, or email your updates to: email@example.com I weigh in this Friday and I’m fully prepared for a smaller loss than last week. I have been working really hard though, so I know I’ll drop something.
Today was a work out myself day, no class. I hopped on the elliptical and ran through my interval ( I will post the interval below for those interested), hit the ab machine, hit the tricep machine, met up with the hubby for some free weights and then had him spot me for some additional tricep work. Burned 500 calories according to my nifty Polar F7! BTW, I love that thing!
Crazy Eliptical Interval:
-set machine to manual and enter all info TIME should be 30 minutes
-set resistance to level 4 and warm up for 5 minutes
-move resistance up to level 8 and do 30 seconds of elliptical movement and the 30 seconds of stair stepping movement alternating between the two for 4 minutes
-take 2 minutes of rest
-another set of the 4 minute/30 second elliptical and stair climbing
-2 minute rest
-another set of 4 minute/30 second elliptical and stair climbing
-2 minute rest
-to finish time out do 20 seconds of elliptical movement and 10 seconds intense stair climbing-pump those legs-alternate those until time is finished.
-lower resistance back down to level 4 for cool down
That is a powerhouse cardio work out! Thanks to Paula and Angela for sharing!
After my sweat fest I came home and made a PBJ!
Weight Watchers wheat bread, sugar free grape jelly, all natural crunch PB! YUMM-O! And I made it in our “picnic” area-AKA the kitchen.
Fun right? Not really LOL. For someone who loves to cook, be in the kitchen, and who’s business thrives on it…..not fun! Hopefully this time next week I’ll be posting pictures of the new and improved GGH “office”.
This afternoon’s fun time activities include stripping wall paper. Can we say messy?! But I found this miracle called CHOMP! And it was down in no time flat. Honestly, CHOMP people if you’re reading I heart you and I would be more than willing to do an info mercial! Ask my hubby, I already have it prepared and I was runnin’ it this afternoon.
After all of that was done we ran mindless errands: gas, bank, post office yada yada yada and then it was LUNCH TIME!! I decided the easiest lunch would be a salad! So I did a little repeat of last week!
Apple Almond Salad:
– mixed field greens
-sliced green apple
-parmesan cheese sprinkles
-1 package 100 calorie Emerald Almonds
-EVOO for drizzling
-lemon juice for drizzling
-sprinkle of Basil
Toss all together-AWESOME
Oh and just so I don’t forget, dinner was a repeat of that LOL. Remember, no stove!

As you may know I have been approached to do a cook book with all of my GGH recipes and I want all of YOU to get in on the fun! I have received so many recipes from everyone, and I love it, that I think we need to share them with the rest of the world. A large portion of the cook book proceeds will go towards GBM research in my Father In Law’s name. GBM is the type of Brain Cancer Tumor that he had, and their is a definite need for more answers in regards to unlocking the mysteries around this type of tumor. The cook books will be reasonably priced and of course be helping a great cause. Please send any and all of your favorite HEALTHY recipes for snacks, dinners, breakfasts, desserts, lunches, cocktails WHATEVER to firstname.lastname@example.org. I would really like to get this up and running again ASAP! So gather up all of your faves and send them in by March 1st, 2010! Your name will go along with your recipe so it will be fun to have your name published! I look forward to seeing what you guys send in and seeing how much money we can raise for this effort!
