Christmas has come and gone, now let’s get down to business! New Year’s is just around the corner and I’m willing to bet all of my Christmas gifts, which are awesome, that 99% of you are going to make a weight loss resolution. I’m here to tell you that it’s not gonna work! Don’t worry, I’ll tell you how to turn that resolution into a life changing choice! Read on….

Did you know that 40 to 45% of American adults make one or more resolutions each year.

Among the top new years resolutions are: quit smoking, exercise, and the ever popular weight loss. The following shows how many of these resolutions are maintained as time goes on:
– past the first week: 75%
– past 2 weeks: 71%
– after one month: 64%
– after 6 months: 46%

So 6 months from now less that half of us will have just given up. Said, “this is to hard”, “I’m to tired”, “I don’t have time” and my favorite, “I’ll start Monday”….

Were you nodding your head because you have said at least one or all of those things? Well I know I used to and heck I still do! That’s were we go wrong friends. You have to learn to switch your mind around when those little excuses begin to bubble up. Yes it is hard, yes it is time consuming, yes you will be tired after the gym kicks your butt, and guess what Monday can be ANY day! I wish that you all knew me before my journey began, because then it wouldn’t seem so silly when I say “If I can do this anyone can!” I came from a family that LOVES to eat. I grew up in Texas, land of deep friend and gravy for goodness sake. I moved up North and exposed my husband’s family to the joy’s of Chicken Fried Steak and Fried Chicken with pan gravy….drool….but we don’t eat that way anymore. I know for a fact that if I ate that now I would throw up, literally. It’s just simply a matter of not allowing your body to consume those empty fats and calories. Find what works for you and DO IT. You want to join Jenny, call her up and do it! Want to do Weight Watchers, fine count the points and do it! I just want you, yes you reading this right now, to know that I am here for you. I will listen, answer emails, send you recipes what ever it takes for you to achieve the goal you set your mind to. 2010 is going to be a year of giving on my part. I want to help as many people as I can in anyway I can. I have been given a second chance in life, given myself my life back, and I will not waste this amazing opportunity! So let’s not wait for Monday January 4th to start those resolutions, let’s start now! I have 15 more pounds to go until I think I will be remotely satisfied with my body. My son’s birthday is in March and we will be throwing a HUGE party, I want that last bit of weight off NOW! I’m going to make it my goal to lose 10 pounds between Jan 1st and Feb 1st and then 10 pounds between Feb 1st and March 1st, his party is on the 7th! That’s 2.5 pounds per week. I CAN DO THIS and I want YOU to do this with me!!! This a fresh start! New year, new me ,new attitude! What a great feeling to know that we will be embarking on a fresh start together!!! I’M PUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will close with a Christmas montage of pics! I was going to post about what we ate and my gifts, but it’s much more important to focus on what will becoming in 2010! So here’s the short version food wise:

Christmas Eve, always a huge fatty buffet so I enjoyed a bowl of Bear Naked FIT cereal with Light Vanilla soy milk pre party. At the party I enjoyed a Diet Coke (huge cheat for me), salad, and some yummy sweet potato chips! Not one piece of dessert and I know it was good dessert because I made them LOL!

Christmas Day, beef tenderloin with mushrooms, Gorgonzola spinach pear salad w/balsamic vinegar drizzle, green beans and glass of white Merlot….YUMMY!!!! I did have a small portion of my delish 4 layer delight, recipe is on the site-search it!!!

Now on to the montage!!!

I’m off to bed now! I’m actually able to attend Kick N Shred at Fit World tomorrow!!!! WAWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! After today’s kick but class with Aurelie I’m pumped!!! She had me doing one armed push ups, running suicides, and side ways planks across the floor! It was like I was attending Biggest Loser boot camp….AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look out lea, I’m comin’ for ya tomorrow! Come kick but with me….

  • I’m @benjsmama on twitter and at first I was gonna pledge 50. That’s when I thought it was for the year until I saw this post. So with that, I’m pledging to lose 25 lbs. Altho I would rather 30 lbs as my goal is to weigh 300 lbs by March 12th (my birthday). So put me down for 25 to 30 lbs. *smiles*

  • I am pleging 20lbs with you! I am down 32lbs since August 10th, which is the day I made my life changing decision to get healthy and not be the fat mom either.
    I cannot join FitWorld because I’m in MI, but I do belong to Ballys and have been loving that place!
