Day 78-Popcorn, Peanuts, Ice Cold Beer

Happy Monday GGH’ers!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Did you guys do anything fun, try new recipes, work out? I always love hearing back form you all so if you did something fun that you’d like to share, email me at:

This weekend was crazy busy for myself and my little family! As most of you know my kitchen is being ripped apart and I have no stove/oven ahhhhhhhhhhh that’s me screaming LOL. On top of the minor construction we attended the Engagement luncheon Saturday and then hit the Patriots vs. Dolphins game yesterday. The weekend flew by, but boy am I tired. Tired or not I did hit Fit World this morning for a serious cardio session. I hopped on the elliptical for 20 minutes and did the Fat Burning Intervals and then put in a 1 mile Interval run on the tready. I have a new “running” play list on my iPhone and it makes me wanna DANCE! Great work out though, and it was even better because the hubby came with and so did Zachary! Zachary just loves Ms.Carmen and today she played dominoes with him, he didn’t wanna leave!!

Check out and print out your Free 3 Day Trial Pass! Tell them Girl Gone Healthy sent ya!

I wanted to share with you some interesting things I noticed food wise at the Patriots game. Plus I will let you in on what I ate and how you can turn a sporting even full of “bad” food into a not so bad experience.

WARNING: Delicious carb filled food porn below!!!

Typically when you think stadium/concession stand food one or all of the above items come to mind. It’s a plethora of tempting sweet and salty snacks that are conviently offered to you right in your seat. You don’t even have to hike up all of those stairs to get a greasy pizza, cheese soaked hot dog, or nachos that are so salty you just have to have another beer….NOPE they come right to you! As I watched everyone around us order delicious snack after snack I realized how far I had really come. If we had gone to this game a year ago I would’ve been an eating machine, but I have learned that the feeling I have after consuming all of that food in conjunction withthe guaranteed upset stomach isn’t worth it.

So, you may ask what did I eat then?! I’m gonna rattle it off to you below and I think you might surprised!

We started out by Tailgating before the game! Sooooo much fun!

There were so many options and at first glance you would think that nothing offered could be eaten…..WRONG! You have to learn how to turn tempting situations into healthy one’s!

I munched on:

-1 small hamburger patty with a grilled pineapple ring on top-no bun no condiments, the sweetness and juice from the pineapple was all I needed

-2 small pieces of grilled chicken dipped in garlic infused balsamic vinegar

-tons of celery sticks with light ranch for dipping-they made wings and with wings there’s always celery 😉

-lots of fruit: apple slices, strawberries, pineapple, watermelon

And I just slowly grazed the buffet line since we were there for 4 1/2 hours before the game started. For drinks I enjoyed a decaf coffee with a shot of Bailey’s Chocolate Mint when we arrived and then I sipped MGD 64’s the rest of the time.

Now onto the game!!!

As I mentioned earlier, the food just comes right to you and as I watched people order I began to wonder what was actually up there to choose from. I found the usual McDonald’s, hot dogs, hamburgers, cheese fries, but as I continued searching I found a place that served grilled chicken sandwiches. I asked if it was possible to have it bun less, and they said “sure thing”! FAB-U! I enjoyed that with one packet of mustard for dipping, as well as shared a soft unsalted pretzel with the hubby! Surprisingly the pretzel was only 300 calories! I was shocked and since we split it it was even better. I did have to settle for Bud Light as my drink of choice as there were no MGD 64’s to be found. All in all it was a successful day and I wasn’t hungry because I munched on my Trident Sugar Free gum in between meals! At only 5 calories per piece it helps curb hunger and fight off the urge to attack the Dippin’ Dots cart LOL.

The hubby uses this trick too, and it whitens your teeth!!!

I hope you all found these little tricks helpful and another tool you can use yourselves!!!

I’m off to run some errands now and figure out what we will have for dinner! Hopefully my oven can come back soon!
