Grillin’,Fro Cho, and Tea

I love Summer because everything is outdoors! From working out to cooking, everything is just better in the sunshine.

I recently purchased the hubby a new grill for his 30th Birthday/Father’s Day and I have already used it more than he has. I am obsessed with grilling!

Now I grew up in Texas so BBQ’ing and grilling aren’t “foreign” concepts to me but I didn’t realize how much I missed it. (Side Note: we have been grill-less for over a year….NEVER again)

I have been grilling my lunches and making enough to have left overs for days now. In the picture above I threw on some chicken breasts and sliced up some yellow squash and some zucchini. I seasoned everything with Mrs. Dash and sprayed everything with a little non stick cooking spray and then I was off to the grill. In minutes I had a quick, easy, healthy lunch with plenty of left overs.

But there is so much more to warm weather than cooking out. What about ICE CREAM?!! I don’t hide the fact that I have sweet teeth, not just a sweet tooth, so I’m always trying to be creative with dessert options.

So I present to you…..

Yea that’s right Cookies and Cream Fro Cho…..I know some of you are like what the heck is Fro Cho? Fro Cho is Frozen Chobani!!

This little dessert is packed with protein and YUMMINESS! Get ready to jot this recipe down….go ahead get your note pad I’ll wait and I’ll just enjoy some Fro Cho…

It’s not my fault you took FOREVER…anyway here’s the recipe!

GGH Cookies & Cream Fro Cho:

-3 cups Coconut Milk (I used So Delicious)

-1 cup plain Chobani

-1 1 1/2 cups crushed WhoNu chocolate sandwich cookies

Using your food processor crush your cookies until desired size. (I make mine tiny because Zac wont eat chunky anything) In a large bowl combine all of your ingredients and stir until incorporated and Chobani smooths out.

If you have an ice cream maker follow your machines instructions and it will work! If you do not have an ice cream maker simply pour your mixture into a blender (1/2 batches at a time) and add ice, blend until nice and thick. Continue until all mixture is blended and place in a freezer safe bowl and allow ice cream to harden to desired consistency. Once frozen, scoop and enjoy!

And on a final note there’s one more thing that says Summer….Iced Tea!!! And my friends at Granny Squibb want to give one lucky RHODE ISLANDER a case for FREE! From your usual Lemon tea to outrageously dee-lish Mint Mojito Granny Squibb is pure Summer in a bottle!!

Mmm.. I love grilling!! We grilled 2 huge packages of chicken on Sat. and I’ve been using it all week. Tonight we’ll have chicken w/ BBQ sauce, salad, and corn on the cob. YUM!

Ps. I love how you differentiated between “grilling” and “BBQing.” They are NOT the same!
