Do You Need A “Plan”

Ok I’m not going to lie……I did NOT want to go to the gym this morning!

But I went!

I did a quick interval run, 15 reps for triceps, and 100 crunches on the ab ball.

Interval Run:

-Set Tready to manual, enter all personal info, set time for 20 minutes

-warm up at a fairly nice pace for 5 minutes

-at the 5 min mark pick up the pace

-run at a minimum 6.0 speed for 1 min 15 seconds ( I run at 6.5 for the 1st few times)

-rest for 45 seconds at a slower speed ( I usually go down to 4.0)

-continue to run the 1 min 15 sec intervals with 45 min rests until 20 minutes is up

-feel free to increase the speed for the 1 min 15 sec portions (by the end I’m running at 7.0 to 7.5 speed)

-walk the cool down the treadmill gives you

Great run for those mornings you don’t want to workout/run but know you need to!

After my run I refueled with a classic snack, Strawberry Chobani and 1/2 of a  90 calorie granola bar crumbled on top!

Yummy!! If you follow me on Twitter then you already know that I was able to cook in the kitchen tonight! That called for a Whole Foods run! I couldn’t pack the boys up quick enough! Unfortunately we had other errands to run first so my happy place had to wait. It was FREEZING today so along the way I stopped off for a Starbucks Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte, my latest obsession!

As if Whole Foods wasn’t amazing enough, this little hot cup of love is the best thing ever! I happily skipped thru Whole Food’s sipping away and plopping all of my favorites into my carriage. I was soooooo excited to see the Chobani was on sale 10 for $10! I stocked up on Strawberry, Blueberry, Pomegranate, and 1 Honey…mmmmmm. And of course I picked up goodies for tonight’s masterpiece dinner….Stuffed Chicken Cutlets! I was soooooo happy to cook in the kitchen! I took a quick snap shot, it’s not done but atleast it’s not bare walls!

There will be molding on top of the cabinets all the way to the ceiling, as well as tile on all of the walls below the cabinets! But we have GORGEOUS new appliances! You can’t really see it but I have a beautiful glass top stove/oven…..I think it’s right up there with the best gift since my engagement ring LOL. I can’t wait to show you all pics of it totally done!

You probably want the recipe to my delish Stuffed Chicken right? 😉

Girl Gone Healthy Stuffed Chicken Cutlets:

– 1 to 2 pounds chicken cutlets

-4 cups fresh baby spinach

-1 carton sliced mushrooms

-1 tub Mascarpone cheese

-1 tsp Basil

-1 tsp Sea Salt

-3/4 cup shredded Asiago cheese

In food processor (or blender), turn spinach and mushrooms into minced consistency. Mix spinach and mushrooms with Mascarpone, stirring until well combined. Using a small spoon scoop a small amount of spin-mush-cheese mix onto raw cutlet and roll up. Place cutlet rolls on  lightly greased baking sheet. Top cutlets with basil and salt, place in pre-heated 375 oven for 45 minutes.

It’s ok if the filling “leaks” out a bit!

Just before cutlets are done, sprinkle Asiago cheese across the top and place back in oven to finish up!

I served my chicken with Jasmine rice and asparagus!

Aside from working out what does it take to stay fit, get healthy, lose weight etc etc etc….

Most people would probably say you need a plan, or that you have to go on a diet. I would like to take a minute to touch on that. Do you really NEED a plan? Is Weight Watchers right for YOU because someone in your family lost a ton of weight on it? Or maybe Jenny Craig because if Valerie B can do it so can you right? The funny thing about these “plans” is that you have to stick to those plans for life. There are no cheats, indulgences etc. My personal opinion is that you have to decide to make a plan to change your life! Does that make sense? I had been on a diet for years and had lost and gained and lost and gained and gained and gained and gained until I woke up in December 2008 ay 260 pounds! Holy moly! I’m only 5’2′! I truly believe that my success so far has simply come from monitoring EVERYTHING that goes into my mouth, being aware of food labels, and working out a minimum of 5 days a week. I have said all of this so many times before, but it’s so true. AND I didn’t have a gym membership until I had lost 75 pounds! You can lose the weight by using tools like the Wii, walking in your neighborhood or local park, using DVD’s etc….don’t be afraid! Get out there and MOVE!
